Blood Youths (血式少年, Chishiki Shōnen) are a special-type of humanoid capable of purging Blood Maidens of corruption and bringing them out of Blood Skelter by using their own blood. They are a recent discovery for the Dawn, with Jack being the first one properly titled as a Blood Youth. There were no other Blood Youths found until Mary Skelter: Finale, when Toh was introduced and Clara was transformed into one via blood transfusion.
Characteristics[]
Other than purging corruption, their abilities are not beyond that of any other human, and their blood will decompose any Blood Weapon on contact, meaning they cannot directly participate in combat. As shown by Jack, they often suffer from anemia due to how often they use their blood via a Mary Gun, and can appear pale because of it. Their blood will decay when exposed to air for too long, hence why the blood maidens need a blood youth in the party and why they can't just bulk up on blood vials.
While it seems as though Blood Youths can be either male or female, it is unknown what happens to make a female Blood Youth over a Blood Maiden. However, as Clara was turned into one by complete accident, it isn't actually known if female Blood Youths can even be born naturally.
Similarly to Blood Maidens, Blood Youths have their own Blood Libido. However, it is unknown whether or not this affects them as much as the Blood Maidens, as Jack's libido doesn't seem to affect his personality as much when compared to them.

| As seen in battle against the Love Nightmare in Mary Skelter 2, it would seem as though Blood Youths can go into a stage similar to Blood Skelter when put through enough stress. As shown through Jack, their hair will turn black and their eyes will become pink with scribbled pupils, similar to a Blood Maiden in Blood Skelter. They will attack randomly at targets, doing great damage, likely due to Blood Youths' blood having corrosive elements when in contact with Marchens and Nightmares. However, it is unknown whether it is actually Blood Skelter, if Jack can even go into that state under normal circumstances, or if it was necessary for consistent gameplay in the last portion of the game with no other lore-based reasons for its appearance. |
