Blood Youths (血式少年, Chishiki Shōnen) are a special type of human. Much like Blood Maidens, Blood Youths are also partially Marchens, though they lack any form of combat ability and are only able to use their blood to purge Corruption from Blood Maidens, and also turn a Blood Maiden in Blood Skelter back to normal. Prior to Mary Skelter: Finale, Jack was the only known Blood Youth to exist, which made him highly valued as an asset to the Dawn.
The term "Blood Youth" is coined as an alternative to Blood Maiden, stemming from the fact that Jack is male and thus could not be classified as a "maiden".
In Mary Skelter: Finale, Clara is turned into a Blood Youth after receiving a blood transfusion from Jack, and Toh is introduced as one of the 3 protagonists.
Characteristics[]
Aside from being able to purge a Blood Maiden's Corruption, Blood Youths possess no other extraordinary traits compared to humans. A Blood Youth's blood is capable of destroying the Blood Weapons used by the Blood Maidens in combat, which makes them not all that useful in combat. A Blood Youth's Blood also decomposes rapidly, and use of a device such as the Mary Gun is necessary to be able to take full advantage of its effects.
As a result of Blood Youths making constant use of their own blood, they may develop anemia or experience other adverse side effects.
While a Blood Youth can be female, there are no known natural female Blood Youths. It is also not known if Blood Maidens are able to gain the abilities of a Blood Youth if they were to have their blood transfused into themselves.
Similarly to Blood Maidens, Blood Youths have a Blood Libido, though it does not appear to affect them as much as ordinary Blood Maidens.

| As seen in battle against the Love Nightmare in Mary Skelter 2, it would seem as though Blood Youths can go into a stage similar to Blood Skelter when put through enough stress. As shown through Jack, their hair will turn black and their eyes will become pink with scribbled pupils, similar to a Blood Maiden in Blood Skelter. They will attack randomly at targets, doing great damage, likely due to Blood Youths' blood having corrosive elements when in contact with Marchens and Nightmares. However, it is unknown whether it is actually Blood Skelter, if Jack can even go into that state under normal circumstances, or if it was necessary for consistent gameplay in the last portion of the game with no other lore-based reasons for its appearance. |
| Toh, the only other known natural Blood Youth, is revealed to have been a Mimicry of Snark or Professor Tohjima, with Jack's Blood Youth abilities mixed in, as well as a disdain for Jack stemming from Snark/Tohjima's own envy of him. |
