“ | A young girl who seems to bring cheer wherever and whenever she's around. She even seems to bring cheer to Hameln's minions. | ” |
—In-Game Profile |
Hikari is a supporting character from Mary Skelter: Nightmares, where she serves as a protagonist to the in-game novel story and the side novel, Hikari no Arika.
In Mary Skelter 2, she serves a more prominent role as a plot-relevant NPC and runs the Rescue Center in the New Liberated District, where Blood Maidens can be purged of Corruption for stat boosts.
Appearance[]
Hikari has short, pink hair and turquoise eyes. She has pale skin and has a friendly appearance that draws people in. While she's not exactly athletic, she can pull her own weight in emergencies.
Like other human prisoners (except Jack and Alice), Hikari wears a black-and-white striped prisoner outfit. Underneath this large shirt is a black tank top. She also has red running shows, a red shoulder strap, and a black buckle choker. She has two black ribbons in her hair.
*Spoiler* After she is reincarnated in Mary Skelter: Nightmares, she becomes the Angelic Girl and gains the expected appearance. Her hair becomes a paler pink and becomes longer and her eyes turn yellow. She bears a halo that looks like the sun and matching hair accessories. Hikari's wings seem to be made up of some kind of orange-yellow energy. She now has a semi-transparent dress.
Personality[]
Hikari is known to bring joy to everyone around her. Eternally optimistic, she keeps everyone's morale up even in bad situations. People are often quick to trust her, which is useful given her role of taking care of others. Despite this, she is unafraid to argue with others, especially Mamoru. Given her and Mamoru's past, she is embarrassed to talk about it with others.
Plot Role[]
Mary Skelter: Nightmares[]
Hikari is one of Jack and Alice's cell neighbors alongside Mamoru in the City Streets area, though a Nightmare attack separates them from each other. After that, Hikari's story is covered in the in-game novel and Hikari no Arika.
Chapter 8[]
Hikari's corpse is one of many that the Tower Base Nightmare leaves in its wake. The Blood Team buries her with the others and some equipment left behind by Dawn underneath the sakura tree. The Jail's mimicry absorbs both the corpses and the gear, causing Hikari, Mamoru, Itsuki, Kaede, and Takumi to be resurrected with the memories of the old Dawn team. Hikari is resurrected with the memories of the Docter, who is speculated to be the late Dr. Ueshima, the old mentor of Miko.
Final Chapter[]
As Mamoru assists the group, Hikari chimes in from time to time to encourage them, saying that she'll meet them at the top. If the player meets the conditions for the Good/True Ending, Hikari, referred to as the Angelic Girl, appears as Snark becomes the Jail Nightmare, explaining that the Jail Nightmare was created from spite and suffering, while she was transformed from the desire to reach the surface. She materializes platforms for the party in order to defeat the Jail Nightmare.
After the Jail Nightmare is defeated, the platforms start to fall with Hikari noting that her power is inconsistent since she is new to this form but can manage a small area. One of the girls will fall, and Jack can use the Mary Reverser to save them and land safely on the ground.
Once back at the Liberated District, the player can speak to Hikari to trigger the Good Ending.
Good Ending Epilogue[]
Hikari will be waiting to transport the remaining humans to the surface. Jack asks were Mamoru and the rest of the resurrected humans are, to which Hikari nervously replied that she has put them somewhere safe and will get them later. She successfully brings the group to the surface soon after.
True Ending Epilogue[]
In this epilogue, Mamoru, Itsuki, Kaede, and Takumi appear along with Hikari. They speak with the newly resurrected Little Mermaid and transformed Otsuu, and while they do not have any memories of them together in the previous timeline, they talk as if they were old friends. Soon after their conversation, she transports everyone to the surface.
Mary Skelter 2[]
Prologue[]
Just like the original game, Mamoru and Hikari speak to Jack and Alice through a crack begin their cells. Otsuu, Little Mermaid, and Red Riding Hood come to take Alice away, with Jack following closely behind, leaving the two alone in their cell.
Chapter 1[]
After Otsuu, Little Mermaid, and Jack land in the Underground Cavern and Jack's transformation, the trio run into Mamoru and Hikari. The pair managed to find Itsuki, Kaede, and Takumi, other humans who had survived the fall into the caverns, before running into them. While Mamoru and Hikari are at first frighten by Jack's change into a Nightmare, they soon accept him as the Jack that they had previously known.
Mary Skelter: Finale[]
“ | A charismatic young woman who was raised in the underground Jail, in a cell adjacent to Jack and Alice. She brightens up any room she enters with her lovely smile. Thanks to Witchcraft, she obtained extraordinary, angelic powers to protect the people she loves. | ” |
—In-Game Profile |
During the attack of Massacre Pink, Hikari was the only one with enough power to oppose them and stop utter destruction, stopping them in their tracks and blinding them. This was shortlived though, as she was pierced through the shoulder, by a spear. She teleports her allies away, splitting them into three different locations, probably due to her injuries. She then joins Jack's group along with Otsuu, Little Mermaid, Miko, Mamoru, Michiru and an unconscious Clara. However, she faints after teleporting Clara to Licard Island and remains unconscious until the final act, to the displeasement of Mamoru.
Love Prison Tower Mary Skelter: True End[]
Whilst farming together, Mamoru suddenly proposes to Hikari as he couldn't bear another day without her by his side. Hikari is shocked since they weren't dating though ends up accepting anyway. Mamoru then sets up the wedding immediately and asks Jack to officiate. As he had had no time to invite anyone with such little notice, he only ends up inviting Kaede, Itsuki, and Takumi. Kaede ran into Otsuu, Little Mermaid, and Hameln on the way, and brings them with her. Kaede and Itsuki revealed they too had gotten engaged, and decide to turn it into a double wedding. This gives Jack the courage to confess to the girl he has feelings for, which eventually leads to Jack getting married as well.
