“ | A silent and intelligent young man that relies on logic instead of brute force and manual labor. He isn't athletic, and is often found being teased by his long time friend, Kaede. | ” |
—In-Game Profile |
Itsuki is a supporting character from Mary Skelter 2, where he serves in the laboratory in the stead of Professor Tohjima in the New Liberated District. He's a main character in Hikari no Arika, the side novel to Mary Skelter: Nightmares.
Appearance[]
He has pale skin, long green hair pulled back into a ponytail, and matching green eyes. He has an angular face with little expression, and is rather tall when compared to the rest of the group. From both dialogue and his artwork, he is slim and not very suited for physical tasks.
He wears a pair of glasses along with a black scarf, a lab coat that is torn-up at the ends, black pants, and brown loafers. Underneath his lab coat is his old prisoner shirt from when he was a captive of the Jail. Despite his circumstances, he is well-dressed and well-groomed compared to Alice and Jack in their prisoner outfits.
In Mary Skelter: Finale, his death wound becomes apparent as a large scar appears above his eyebrow.
Personality[]
Itsuki is a smart individual who speaks formally when addressing others. He is not very emotive and is difficult to excite, although he often seems rather exasperated with the people around him. Despite his reserved nature, he is friendly towards others and willing to help where he can, but is reluctant to do so in the face of manual labor, which Kaede, his long-time friend, teases him about. This can lead him into trouble, as he has a difficult time saying no to people and can overload himself because of it.
Plot Role[]
Mary Skelter 2[]
As Otsuu, Little Mermaid, and Jack wander through the Underground Cavern, they stumble into Itsuki, Mamoru, Hikari, Takumi, and Kaede, who had fallen into the same hole left by a Blood Skelter Alice. Itsuki explains to the party that he had previously worked in the laboratory under the Professor until he was captured by Marchens. After the introductions, the party takes the group of humans along with them before encountering Hameln, who asks them to play a gruesome version of tag that involved murdering the person being tagged. They run away, to which it is noted that Itsuki is having a difficult time keeping up because of his lack of physical training. After they recruit Hameln, they arrive at the Liberated District. At the sight of the destruction, Itsuki is quick to note that the culprit for the destruction is likely still nearby, and it would be best to leave when against the Mysterious Nightmare.
Once the New Liberated District is established, Itsuki creates a makeshift laboratory and performs much of the same jobs that Professor Tohjima did in Mary Skelter: Nightmares, with the addition of Blood Pack appraisals and injections.
Throughout the game, Itsuki will go to the destroyed Liberated District with Mamoru (likely for protection), to try to find old documents from the Dawn, guiding the group to new dungeons throughout the game. In Chapter 8, he finds the body of the Professor, who everyone had hoped was alive, crushed underneath a monitor in his Labratory. He managed to take some of the documents that the Professor still had on him, which detailed Blood Skelter and its effects.
Mary Skelter: Nightmares[]
Chapter 8[]
Itsuki is never directly shown in the main story of the game, but he is referenced during it. He is one of the corpses the group finds in the Tower Base, having been killed by the Tower Base Nightmare. Despite their lack of time, the group decides to bury the individuals along with the gear from the old Dawn investigation team. After the party leaves, the Jail resurrects the bodies with the memories of the previous Dawn leaders. Itsuki merges with the Professor, who was the leader of the research in the Dawn.
Final Chapter[]
As the group make their way through the tower, they come across a few puzzles and riddles. As Jack and the crew talk with Mamoru, he asks someone else on their team for the answer, presumably Itsuki, for the answer, to which he obliges. Eventually, it is brought up that Itsuki has the memories of the Professor, which confuses Jack and the party because Professor Tohjima is still alive here.
Good Ending[]
None of the resurrected humans make an appearance in this ending, as Hikari, now the Angelic Girl, states that she has put them somewhere safe. The reason for this decision is never explicitly stated, but an out of game explanation could be that the designs for the other resurrected humans hadn't been created at the time.
True Ending[]
After Otsuu becomes a Blood Maiden and Little Mermaid is resurrected, the pair meet up the human party from Mary Skelter 2. While the humans have no memories of the previous timeline, they all hit it off, stating how it feels like talking with old friends.
When prompted to go to the surface, the resurrected humans are reluctant at first, as Itsuki has discovered that they now lived similarly to Marchens, for better or for worse. While they had greater strength than before, they also had to live near a core to survive. Despite this, the group remain optimistic, and agree to join everyone on their journey to the surface.
Mary Skelter: Finale[]
“ | A young researcher who worked as part of the Dawn. He is childhood friends with Kaede, who often treats him like a child. He, along with others in the group, was resurrected from death thanks to the original Dawn members. | ” |
—In-Game Profile |
After the attack from Massacre Pink, Itsuki manages to join Pyre's group along with Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, and Takumi.
Love Prison Tower Mary Skelter: True End[]
Whilst farming together, Mamoru suddenly proposes to Hikari as he couldn't bear another day without her by his side. Hikari is shocked since they weren't dating though ends up accepting anyway. Mamoru then sets up the wedding immediately and asks Jack to officiate. As he had had no time to invite anyone with such little notice, he only ends up inviting Kaede, Itsuki, and Takumi. Kaede ran into Otsuu, Little Mermaid, and Hameln on the way, and brings them with her. Kaede and Itsuki revealed they too had gotten engaged, and decide to turn it into a double wedding. This gives Jack the courage to confess to the girl he has feelings for, which eventually leads to Jack getting married as well.
