“ | I don't want to work. Just leave me alone... | ” |
—Princess Kaguya |
Kaguya or Princess Kaguya (as she prefers to be addressed as) is a member of the Blood Maidens and one of the playable characters in Mary Skelter: Nightmares.
Profile[]
Kaguya is a member of the Blood Maidens, and is known for her lazy attitude. Due to her lethargic personality, she constantly holes herself up in her room. She also rides a large vehicle called "Bamboo No.1" as a means of moving and fighting. Despite this, she barely moves her own body, and will not fight until her demands are met.
She's quite slim for being a do-nothing layabout, but her clothes belie a significantly endowed figure, much to the chagrin of girls like Alice and Thumbelina.
Despite her lazy demeanor, she may — or may not — have the ability to unleash the "Truant Seven Tools" from her skirt.
Her immense laziness and fixation on treasures is likely a result of her Blood Libido.
Story[]
Mary Skelter: Nightmares[]
“ | An amazingly lazy girl known for always cruising on her special ride, Bamboo One. She may have some secrets up her sleeve... | ” |
—In-Game Profile |
Pre-game[]
Kaguya was once an ordinary girl living in an unnamed village of the Jail. One day, her powers as a Blood Maiden were discovered, and she was ecstatic at her ability to protect the village against Marchen attacks. However those same powers led the villagers to fear her. Fear became hate, and they actively shunned her and took whatever she treasured. The trauma of this event would lead Kaguya to develop a distaste for humans.
Some time before the beginning of the game, Kaguya would be found by Dawn and recruited. While she's technically approved for deployment on missions, she never actually leaves her room to do any.
Chapter 1[]
Kaguya briefly makes an appearance as Red Riding Hood is showing Jack and Alice around the Liberated District. She's disinterested in any conversation, and continues to insist on not moving until someone brings her the "five treasures."
Chapter 3/4[]
When the Blood Team decides to investigate the Temple area for a core, Kaguya barges into the lab imploring them not to go. She refuses to elaborate on why exactly, ad flees when they try to press her. When the team is stopped by a hazard in the Temple, they return to HQ to try and convince Kaguya to assist. She refuses to do so until the five treasures are gathered, so they move out to retrieve them from the Temple.
The Blood Team finds four treasures, but the fifth is nowhere to be seen. They return to Kaguya asking her for a clue, but she refuses to help them in any way and demands the treasures. Suddenly, the items all light up, including one distinctive shine on Kaguya's body. Turns out she was hiding the fifth treasure this whole time. Shocked, the Blood Team asks her for answers before she flees the room and Dawn HQ entirely, headed for the Temple area through the City Streets.
In the Temple, Kaguya is accosted by Marchens before the Blood Team intervenes. She questions why they're not scolding her, and scoffs when they say they're her friends. She then reveals that she once thought of humans as her friends long ago, until they all turned on her and stole her treasures. Now she doesn't like humans, and unwilling to do a thing for them. After some pleading from the rest of the group, she relents, choosing to help for the Blood Maidens and not for the humans.
As they travel, they find the corpse of a Marchen with its belly burst open. The group speculates as to why it's like that and even say they've seen other corpses in a similar condition. Kaguya remains strangely silent throughout the event.
Chapter 5/6[]
After the group defeats the W. Nightmare at the Waterside, Rapunzel will lead the group to her birthplace. Upon their arrival, they discover a Marchen with an open stomach. Kaguya wails when she realizes that all her suspicions of their origins were true: that Blood Maidens and Blood Youths were hybrids born from Marchens. She explains this to the group, who all react in horror, excluding Rapunzel and Gretel if she has already been obtained. They make their way back to the Liberated District as they try to wrap their head around the revelation.
Final Chapter (Good/True Ending)[]
After the group and Haru reveal that the Professor is Snark, they rush to a nearby room to rescue the members of the Order who were lead there by a fake Michiru mimic. Both Michiru and Chiaki attempt to reason with the crowd to get them to escape, but they react with skepticism toward the two. Kaguya jumps in to scold the group for their unwillingness to listen to reason and ultimately tells them that they can stay and die or descend the tower and escape. Despite their reluctance, they yield, and follow Michiru and Chiaki down the tower, with Kaguya leaving satisfied that she managed to save them.
Mary Skelter 2[]
“ | A lazy girl that is found always riding on her trusty device, Bamboo One. She carries with her tools to help her look like she's doing work. She has a tendency of reacting to words that make her seem like a burden. | ” |
—In-Game Profile |
Mary Skelter 2 Prologue Short Story[]
Kaguya plays a small role in the short story. She was brought to the Dawn by her foster family as a child. When she was tested, she proved to be very skilled in everything except her physical. The poor result in her physical caused her to lock herself in her room and refuse to do any work. After Cinderella went missing and Thumbelina, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty left the Dawn to join the Order, Kaguya left her room and tried to prove herself to be useful, often going a bit overboard in her endeavors.
Chapter 1[]
After the Mysterious Nightmare started to destroy the Liberated District, Kaguya was ordered to run away by Red Riding Hood. Her and the other Blood Maidens scattered to the surrounding areas.
Chapter 5[]

Blood Skelter Kaguya
The party explores the Temple after reports of dead marchens in the areas. As they continue into the second area, they discover Kaguya in Blood Skelter, having given into the Corruption and stress after she ran away. A battle ensues between Kaguya and the party as they attempt to tire her out so they can use Jack's blood to bring her out of Blood Skelter. After she gets back to normal, she tries to convince Otsuu and Little Mermaid she can still fight before passes out.
After she wakes up in the New Liberated District, she explains that the Mysterious Nightmare attacked the Liberated District after Otsuu, Little Mermaid, and Jack feel into the Underground Cavern, with Red Riding Hood giving the final order to scatter. Hikari, Otsuu, and Little Mermaid try to convince Kaguya to stay back in the New Liberated District to recover, but she insists that she is ready to fight and joins the party.
As the group makes their way through the temple, it becomes clear that Kaguya is weak and tired, unable to keep up with the workload that they are taking on. However, any attempt to talk her out of working is met with quick dismissal and she continues forward. Before the fight against the T. Nightmare, Kaguya reveals why she is working so relentlessly: she fears that the Dawn, and more specifically the Professor, will begin to experiment on her unless she can prove that she is useful to them. Admitting this sends her into tears and Little Mermaid tries her best to comfort Kaguya while Otsuu reassures her that there is no more Dawn to threaten her safety. She soon calms down upon hearing this, and despite being given the opportunity, chooses to fight the Nightmare with the group. While she does fall back into her Blood Libido after realizing that she doesn't have to be so diligent, there seems to be residual trauma as she continues to push herself throughout the game.
Bad Ending[]
After the battle against the Mysterious Nightmare, it runs away and the Jail Tower begins to topple. Nightmare Jack runs after the Mysterious Nightmare while the Blood Maidens quickly make their way down the tower. After they reach the bottom, the Tower finally falls, and the group looks upon the destruction, unsure of what to do next.
True Ending[]
After they defeat the Love Nightmare, the group is chased by the Upper Tower Nightmare, who gradually picks them off as they ascend. Soon the group comes to a door that they have to open from one side. While the rest make it through, Red Riding Hood and Kaguya choose to wait to meet their fate with the Nightmare, both exhausted from the earlier fight and the running. Before the Nightmare arrives, Rapunzel and Cinderella find an opening in the wall and crawl through to join the two. While Otsuu and Little Mermaid beg them to get to the switch and open the door again, they refuse, saying that they are also at their limit and will hold off the Nightmare along with Red Riding Hood and Kaguya. The Nightmare eventually catches up with Otsuu, Little Mermaid, Hameln, and Gretel, having slaughtered the ones who decided to stay behind.
Mary Skelter: Finale[]
“ | A mellow Blood Maiden who is often seen in traditional Japanese attire. The only thing she dislikes more than unnecessary interaction is having to exert energy of any kind. After forming a bond with her fellow Blood Maidens following their escape from Jail, she begins to welcome in the kindness of others more frequently. Her observational wit and aloof demeanor make her something of a wisecrack. She rides Bamboo One, a flying device which she operates manually. | ” |
