Miko Ueshima is a member of the Dawn, and their main medical specialist. She operates the Rescue Center and allows the player to perform purges in Mary Skelter: Nightmares.

Miko is a young woman with brown hair pulled back into a ponytail with brown eyes and glasses. She wears a black lab coat with a white dress and red tie, along with black pantyhose and white heels. As the main medic of Dawn, she has a stethoscope hanging around her neck and carries a folder of records and documents with her.
Personality[]
Miko is a logical person, choosing to believe based on facts and logic above all else; however, she is also known to be caring and empathetic, as shown with her reluctance to send Jack on missions or perform experiments on the Blood Maidens. She often encourages people to form their own opinions and is willing to take help when needed if it helps the greater good.

Pre-game[]
Miko was once another orphan of the Jail, with no memory of her biological parents. Early in her life, she was taken in by Dr. Ueshima of Dawn, who mentored her in medical science. Eventually, Dr. Ueshima would become a casualty of Snark's attack, with Miko taking on their last name and becoming Dawn's head doctor.
Chapter 1[]
Miko is the one to treat Jack's wounds after he somehow breaks Alice out of her frenzy in Blood Skelter. She then brings the two of them to the Rescue Center, where she performs a physical examination and extracts some of Jack's blood to study its anti-Corruption properties. Later, she and the rest of Dawn both celebrate Red Riding Hood's achievement in discovering the Jail's core and the mortality of Nightmares, but also berate her for bringing Jack and Alice, who have not been approved for deployment yet.
Chapter 2[]
Miko and Haru work together to create the Mary Gun after Jack's insistence to help the Blood Maidens in whatever way they can. Soon afterward, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty after being attacked by the G. Nightmare, reporting that Thumbelina has been captured. Initially, Miko only allows Alice and Red Riding Hood to rescue her, but allows Jack, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty to go after Jack purges their Corruption and Haru prods her to let him help.
Chapter 3[]
As Jack becomes more curious about the Order of the Sun and Miko's skepticism about the organization, she explains that she has a difficult time believing in a higher being with little proof and disproves of how the organization uses their followers for labor. However, she still encourages Jack to form his own opinion of the group nonetheless.
Mary Skelter 2[]
Early in the game, the Liberated District is attacked by a Nightmare. Miko is an unfortunate casualty, her armless corpse discovered by Otsuu and co.

- The kanji for Miko (視子) combine to mean "to look after the child," while the kanji of Ueshima (上島) mean "above the island."
- Her first name denotes her caring or even motherly attitude towards Jack and the Blood Maidens. The meaning behind Ueshima could be interpreted in a number of ways, such as her being able to see the whole picture regarding the Professor's plans and experiments or foreshadowing her survival in the True Ending.
