“ | It wasn't like anything we'd seen before. I can't explain it... Only that it was a form of fear itself. | ” |
—The Professor, about Snark |
Snark is said to be the King of the Nightmares and dwells within the Jail.
Description[]
Believed to be the king of the Nightmares, Snark possesses a high level of intelligence and is able to comprehend and speak human language.
|
In actuality, Snark is an alien from another planet, though neither species nor planet name is ever given. Some time ago, Snark's planet was destroyed. Desiring a new home, he took the Jail, which was actually a species of flora from his world, and dropped many of them on Earth, hoping to terraform it to his liking.
Story[]
Mary Skelter: Nightmares[]
Pre-game[]
Fifteen years prior to the Red Riding Hood's rescue of Alice and Jack, the first members of Dawn, led by the Professor, ventured into the Jail to try and escape and encountered Snark. The beast slaughters everyone except the Professor who managed to escape.

Chapter 7[]
As the party attempts to interrogate the S.G. Nightmare, Snark appears from behind it and kills it before it can answer any questions. While most of the group is terrified by its appearance, Gretel and Rapunzel remain unphased, pointing out how weak it looked and how it needed to strike from behind. They leave the Station Grounds to ruminate on what happened.
Final Chapter[]
After Mamoru and Hikari are resurrected with the memories of the Leader and the Doctor, they attempt to help the party within the Upper Tower. At one point, Mamoru asks if they killed the Tower Base Nightmare, to which they explain that they did. Mamoru seems to switch to the Leader, who laments how they wished they knew about the cores so they might have had a chance to survive. Confused, the party asks if it was Snark that killed them or the Tower Nightmare I, to which the Leader responds that it was the latter, having never heard of Snark. This makes the group uneasy, but with no other answers, they continue on.
At the top of the tower, the group finds the Professor, Miko, Haru, Michiru, and Chiaki. They have the opportunity to find out the real traitor of the group and Snark's true identity. While Snark's alter ego will be revealed no matter the player's choice, the ending will alter depending on them.
If the questions are answered incorrectly, Snark will sacrifice all of the followers of the Order of the Sun to create Evil God. Once Evil God is defeated, the Jail Tower will collapse and Snark will be nowhere to be found.
If they are answered correctly, the party saves the Order of the Sun and confront Snark, who uses the product of the Moon's insemination to become the Jail Nightmare, while Hikari will inversely become the Angelic Girl. Hikari will allow the party to fight the newly transformed Snark. Once defeated, the Jail Nightmare disappears, and Snark is killed.
Mary Skelter 2[]
Snark does not appear in Mary Skelter 2, but the party mistakes the Mysterious Nightmare for Snark at its first few appearances.
|
Snark does not appear because its alter ego, the Professor, dies early on in the game. However, the Professor's body is not found until much later.
