The Tower Base Nightmare (監獄塔・前ナイトメア, Kangokutōzen Naitomea) is one of many Nightmares that patrols the Jail. Not to be confused with the Upper Tower Nightmare.
As the research team for the Dawn explore the Tower Base, they are ambushed by the Base Tower Nightmare and subsequently killed. Snark takes the opportunity to assume the Professor's identity and returns to the Liberated District, instead asserting that Snark had killed them and that he is a creature to be feared.
Final Chapter[]
After Mamoru, Hikari, Itsuki, Kaede, and Takumi awakened with the memories of the former Dawn members (the last three never being shown), they help out the party as they ascend through the Upper Tower. Eventually, Mamoru asks if and how the Tower Base Nightmare was defeated, and Jack explains that they destroyed its core to do so. Mamoru's personality shifts to the Leader, who laments that they wished they could've known that before they were killed. Confused, Jack asks if it was Snark who killed them, but the Leader says that it was the Tower Base Nightmare, having never heard of Snark, giving a greater clue as to the true identity of Snark.
